Pete Peterson leads our team and has been deeply involved in professional development and performance
improvement for companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 divisions.
He is a
lifelong student of professional sales and is a keen, aware observer and
analyst of what works - and what doesn't.
Pete has been in
the sales business for over 30 years in the corporate and academic arenas.
Early in his career, he was an executive at several major franchises and
start-up companies where he focused on employee development and sales process
management.
Additionally, his 13-year (and
counting) consulting career gave him the privilege of working in over 24
different industries.
Subsequently, he
joined the University of Connecticut School of Business Program for Sales
Leadership as part-time
faculty. Within two years, he became full-time faculty and the
director of the program which prepares students for rewarding careers in sales.
Under his leadership, the program grew from 30 students in 2004 to more than
300 on four campuses in 2009.
He served as the
faculty advisor for the UConn chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national sales and
marketing fraternity. He and his chapter won many awards, including Top Chapter and Advisor of the
Year in the first three years of the its existence.
Pete is currently
on the advisory board of the University Sales Education Foundation, and is also a past member of the board of the
Conference of Management and Executive Development.
Pete earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Guilford
College and MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and is actively
engaged in post-graduate education at the Ph.D. level for adult and workplace
learning.
