The Center is dedicated to conducting and supporting entrepreneurship research and education.

Pete Peterson, president and CEO of SaleMetrix and NYU Executive MBA (Class of 2000), has joined New York University's Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial Studies as a mentor for start-up companies.

The Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial Studies (http://www.stern.nyu.edu/ei/bces/) is dedicated to conducting and supporting entrepreneurship research and education. The Center underwrites research grants for faculty members and doctoral students, conducts conferences for scholars and practitioners, engages in specialized executive education, and produces a variety of publications that contribute to understanding the entrepreneurial process and the public policy and educational issues associated with encouraging new enterprise development. The Center also offers co-curricular programs that are designed to complement course-related learning and to encourage the desire among Stern students to create economic enterprise through new ventures, either in start-up or established businesses.

Peterson will mentor start-up companies founded by Stern Business School students and grads that are assigned by the Berkley Center staff.  His first assignment is MetaFirst, Inc. (http://metafirst.com), a technology company founded by David Gallet and Scott Smith.
